Reviews
Talulla exceeded expectations with its exceptional tasting menu and perfectly curated wine pairings. Each course showcased creativity and precision, elevating the dining experience. The seamless integration of flavors and textures, coupled with expertly selected wines, made for a memorable and delightful evening. Highly recommend for those seeking a culinary journey with impeccable attention to detail.
Went here for our anniversary, and it was an overall amazing experience! We had a bit of a delay getting to our table, but everyone was apologetic and got us a drink while we waited. The food was amazing, and the server helped arrange the meals we ordered (two pastas and a main, one of the pastas was a cold dish) into two courses. We wanted to try the banana cake from the tasting menu as a dessert, and they were able to make that happen. All-in-all, an amazing experience both in food and service, and would love to go back!
One of the best restaurants in the greater Boston area. Intimate, cozy and delicious, this is an amazing hidden gem for date nights or special occasions or just indulging. Also, they deserve an award for their bread and butter, absolutely to die for.
Talulla serves creative, delicious, and seasonal dishes using a wide variety of local ingredients. They offer prix fixe and a la carte menus, both of which are good values. The farm-to-table scene in Cambridge is crowded, but Talulla is a clear highlight.
Probably some of the best service I've ever had. The staff made us feel immediately welcome upon arrival and the bartender made a superb drink recommendation that I probably wouldn't have ordered on my own. We ate in the greenhouse, which was a super cute and cozy private dining experience. Aside from the drink, our food highlights were also the rosemary honey butter and the white truffle cacio e pepe. Our waiter was wonderful throughout the evening. We loved that the restaurant includes a fee (instead of a tip) to cover reasonable wages for all of their staff. Still left a tip anyway since the service was above and beyond.
Great casual fine dining experience in a quiet Cambridge neighborhood.
Took a visit here for dinner on a Saturday night. Its casual and rustic interior blended in perfectly with the atmosphere of the neighborhood, and our servers were very welcoming. We were initially planning to do the tasting menu, but the regular a la carte menu seemed too good to miss. We ended up ordering a bunch from their regular menu which turned out to be the right decision.
The optional focaccia and rye bread with sweet scallion butter was an excellent start to the meal. From the appetizers, we had the kohlrabi & cabbage, country terrine, and the scallop crudo. Topped with a mélange of earthy and floral ingredients, the scallop crudo was my favorite from the appetizers. Each bite was creamy and flavorful yet inexplicably light. Sprinkled with cranberries and spiced seeds, the kohlrabi and cabbage salad was also delightful. I especially loved the spiced seed toppings which added the right amount of nuttiness and crunchy texture.
Saffron bigoli with leeks and clam sofrito had a slightly boring flavor profile, but the pappardelle verde with lamb sugo was phenomenal. I’m usually not a fan of mint toppings, but it managed to become a perfect complement to the lamb sugo. Subsequent 3 entrées were also amazing. Japanese-inspired soy marinated cod was perfectly tenderized, and its delicate texture paired well with the carrots and leeks soaked in dashi. Forking a concoction of chimichurri sauce, garlic purée, and grilled spring onion with tender pieces of beef teres major was also very satisfying.
We finished off the meal with the carrot cake sundae and the lemon poppyseed cake. The dessert section lacked refined taste, but we still appreciated their effort to put something unique and interesting. Overall, a really enjoyable dinner experience at a reasonable price. Would definitely come back some day to try their tasting menu.
Talulla restaurant sits in a quiet neighborhood, and at first, I thought we were going the wrong way. It was a warm evening, so we sat outside. We chose their set menu, and it turned out to be a good decision.
We began with the spicy scallop dish, which was nicely balanced by the rich foie gras on brioche that came next. The ravioli portion was big, and it had both smoky and tangy flavors. The ribeye steak was outstanding, especially its crispy crust. We finished our meal with the intense panna cotta dessert.
The service was friendly and not pushy. Now, about the prices – dining in Boston can be expensive, but Talulla's set menu is one of the more affordable options we've found. We paid about $270 for two set menus, two cocktails, and a big bread basket, which was quite generous.
In short, I highly recommend Talulla for a great dining experience in Boston. You'll get delicious food, friendly service, and reasonable prices in a cozy setting.
My wife and I had a great experience at Talulla. It's a cute little space that feels fancy but also cozy at the same time, almost like a nice dining room. The service was excellent, and we felt attended to throughout the night. The wine pairing was quite good as well. Food was great overall, with interesting textures and flavor combinations. The only dish that wasn't quite a hit for me was the veal with onion ash. The onion ash has a texture that was strange for me. It may have been that I was simply unfamiliar though, since that was the first time I had anything with onion ash. Everything else was very tasty with subtle flavors. I would definitely come back.
